Storia The Story
Nel 1884, a soli ventuno anni, Gabriele d'Annunzio — già celebre come giovane poeta — sale ai monti d'Abruzzo, fino al borgo silenzioso di Scanno. In 1884, just twenty-one years old, Gabriele d'Annunzio — already famous as a young poet — climbed into the Abruzzo mountains, all the way to the silent village of Scanno.
Non scelse un hotel, né un palazzo nobiliare: scelse questa casa, affacciata sulla piazza. Dalle finestre, le campane di Santa Maria della Valle e il mormorio delle donne in costume tradizionale. Qui trovò quell'aria "magica" che ritroveremo nei suoi versi. He chose neither a hotel nor a noble palace: he chose this house, facing the square. From the windows, the bells of Santa Maria della Valle and the murmur of women in traditional dress. Here he found that "magical" air we will recognize in his verses.
Tornò nel 1888. Brevi soggiorni che si intrecciano con il ricordo di Barbara Leoni, Maria Gravina ed Eleonora Duse — le tre donne che hanno segnato la sua vita e la sua poesia. He returned in 1888. Siamo stati benissimo! Alessandra bellissima persona, disponibile e gentile! Colazione ottima, dolci fatti in casa e ricotta fresca veramente buoni. La posizione è perfetta, all'ingresso del centro storico con il parcheggio a due passi. We had a wonderful time! Alessandra is a beautiful person, helpful and kind! Excellent breakfast, homemade cakes, and truly delicious fresh ricotta. The location is perfect, right at the entrance of the old town with parking just steps away.

La struttura è ben posizionata, all'interno del centro storico, e Alessandra è veramente una persona fantastica, molto accogliente e disponibile: ti fa sentire a casa. Consigliatissimo!! Dove posso parcheggiare? Where can I park?
Il centro storico è ZTL, ma a soli 40 metri dalla casa c'è un parcheggio pubblico. Vi guidiamo passo passo all'arrivo. The old town is a restricted-traffic area, but a public parking lot is just 40 meters from the house. We'll guide you step by step upon arrival.
La casa ha scale ripide? Does the house have steep stairs?
La nostra è una casa antica con scale piuttosto ripide. Per ospiti anziani o famiglie con bambini molto piccoli, contattateci prima di prenotare: vi suggeriremo la sistemazione più adatta. Ours is a historic home with rather steep stairs. For elderly guests or families with very young children, please contact us before booking: we'll suggest the most suitable arrangement.
